On 15th March 2002 ING Bank launched an active bank transaction package via the Internet. The service "Online Banking" is targeted primarily at retail clients and it provides the capabilities for making payments, term deposits
and FX deals online. The communication between the Client's browser and the Bank's server is performed via encrypted sessions (SSL). The security of online transactions is further guaranteed by a personal Digital Certificate, issued by the Bank or by another
ING Bank has been offering its Clients the capability to monitor their account balances and movements through Internet or mobile WAP telephone since mid-2001. Users of the system can monitor their account balances and movements by different
criteria, they can also track their deposits and loans.
The launch of ING Bank Online Banking service is a continuation of ING Bulgaria's efforts to provide its Clients with the convenience of Internet services. ING was the first and so far the only financial institution that offered the service
Mortgage Loan Online. 100% of our current borrowers preferred this system. It was introduced in order to facilitate Clients' needs.
ING was also the first to offer application for VISA Cards Online. The online application is on for both VISA Electron and VISA Classic. Thus, Clients have to come in person to the Bank only once. Over 60% of all applicants preferred
to use VISA Online to the usual visit to the office.
ING's efforts to offer new and convenient services are targeted both to ING Bank's and ING Pension Insurance Company's activities.
In August 2001 ING launched the service Pension Insurance Online.
This system provides for Internet application for pension insurance. Over 3% of ING Universal Pension Fund's clients made their choice via Internet during the campaign in 2001.
